The Cupping testing Machine (Erichsen Tester) is precise technology testing machine which is used for thin sheet metal & strip steel rolled stock etc. It can complete test of plastic deformation for thin sheet metal & strip steel rolled stock.
Test Principle:
A punch with a spherical end is pressed against a specimen clamped in the pad and the film to form a dent until a penetrating crack appears, and the depth of the indentation measured by the displacement of the punch is the test result. That is, a certain specification of steel ball or spherical punch is used to apply pressure to the sample with 10kN clamping force around the sample until the sample produces a penetrating crack, and the punch indentation depth (mm) is the cupping value of the plate, which is used to judge the plastic deformation performance of the material.

It conforms to ASTM E 643-78 & GB4156-84 “Testing Machine for Metal Cupping test”

Advantages:

The cup protrusion fixture is easy to replace, the sample is easy to load and unload, after the sample is put in, the clamping can be completed by pressing the automatic button, the test parameters can be input and changed, the stamping process is fully automatic and completed with one key, no human influence, closed-loop control can be realized, the stamping force value is reduced to judge the automatic parking of the sample crack, and it is easy to observe the test process at the same time, and the cup protrusion value at the moment of crack can be more accurately judged.
5. The test data is displayed by computer, and there is a peak memory function, that is, large punching pressure, cupping value, etc., to realize the report, storage, batch, curve drawing of test results, etc., and the deformation height is automatically remembered, and the end of a test can be automatically restored to the state to be tested
